JULY
Well, after Camp finished, we went to Madison, WI (with a short stop in Dubuque) to visit Matt and Tiff. (By "we" I mean C.C., Erin, Michael Bunn and me.) Dubuque was lots of fun--we went up a cool but terrifyingly old incline railway, stayed in our favorite hotel chain, the Country Inn and Suites (Check it out--they have Adults Only Swim Time!) and explored the Mississippi River area. Of course, Madison is a great town--it was so much fun to see Tiffy and Matt and their beautiful home. Madison has a great farmer's market--it's huge!! We bought lots of artisan cheese and beautiful produce. We also went to a live showing of the What Do You Know show that airs on NPR and explored the downtown area. Later, Erin, CC and I kicked ass in a bowling duel. I broke 100 for maybe the first time ever!!! It was a great trip, and Condi (our new car) held up quite well!

AUGUST
Hmm...let's see...In August, I looked for a job some more. I got used to the idea that I wasn't going back to school for the first time in 21 years. It's kind of nice not to get up at 5:00 in the morning.
Oh! I got a nephew!!! Hayden James Zettler made his appearance on August 24th, 2006. He is adorable--as are his big sisters, Mallory and Jami! On the sisterly front, we had a visit from my little sister--who is very much an adult now. Sara spent the summer volunteering for No Mas Muertes, a humanitarian organization in the borderlands of Mexico. I can't express how proud I am of her! She is now back at seminary in Decatur, GA. I have no doubt that the world is a better place because of the things that she does.
Sadly, we sent Scotty Mo off to live in Baltimore (well, sad for us, happy for him!) We will miss him, but are excited for his return during Andy and Angela's wedding. I am SO excited that these two are getting hitched. I couldn't ask for more happiness for such a great couple! As a bonus feature, everyone will be in town for the great event, so I get to see all my high school friends again! In other wedding news, some very dear friends of ours are engaged! I have to get permission before I reveal their names, however. C.C. has been lecturing me about privacy!
SEPTEMBER (thus far)
This month the weather has changed. It is very pleasant out, though my Thursday afternoons at the pool with Dede are over. That is sad. I love a pool with no yelling and splashing kids, and since everyone was at work/school, Dede and I would loaf about for a couple hours on her day off. I swear that when we get a house, I REALLY want to find one with a pool. I'm sure that it won't happen, but a girl can dream, right?
In other news, C.C. is winding up her training for the breast cancer 3-day walk. It is this weekend. She will be walking 60 miles. I am so proud of her! Call me if you're in the area and want to cheer her on. Check out her website, too! I'll be all sorts of web savvy and upload some photos to it after the walk!
Last weekend we went to Missie B's. It' s a gay bar in Westport that has a great drag show called the Flo show. It was my first ever time at a gay bar, which is odd, and kind of embarrasing, since lots of our straight friends were teasing me--they'd all been, what was my deal? The show was great, and above all, the atmosphere was so comfortable. It was nice to be ourselves, totally un-selfconcious about holding hands, etc. Also, there was a drag king there named River Rain...let's just say that some crushes have developed in the Hayden-White household!
We celebrated Molly's birthday this weekend. She and Erin came into town to visit and Dede and Dan joined us. We had dinner at TGIFriday's because Dede and C.C. had to try the new fried green beans appetizer. I think they taste like green bean casserole. Later we came back to our house for cake and ice cream. We were going to go back to Missie B's, but since Dede had to work, Dan had drill, and I had to teach sunday school early the next morning...we just played cards for awhile and went to bed at 12 instead of 3am!
So it was a fun summer and September has been ok, too. I created a photo album to share the large amount of digital pictures I take (including long overdue pictures of our apartment,) I'm learning more about computer programs...I even have a Myspace page which has let me connect with old friends. Keep your fingers crossed about a job, and keep in touch! I love you all!
